Are you constantly searching for totally rad cars that you want to buy, like I am? Ok dumb question. Of course you are.
I’m a big fan of the cars from the 80s and 90s, especially the forgotten and unloved cars from that era. I gravitate towards vehicles that are not exactly collectable, valuable, or even desirable—meaning some of the cars I’d like to buy are nearly impossible to find.
In my latest video, I take a look at 11 of these rad vehicles that I adore, from the wedge-shaped Subaru XT, to the cute little Daihatsu Rocky, to the mostly forgotten Mercury LN7. If you have a few minutes to spare and want to get rad, please feel free to check out the video below.
What’s on your car bucket list? What weird, forgotten, or unloved vehicles are you a fan of?

It’s hard enough finding a regular EXP nowadays, let alone a Mercury version.

Only time I saw an LN7 for sale was about 3 months ago. She was only asking $1500. I stupidly did not buy it!

You didn’t directly mention it in the video segment, but the James Bond 4WD button on the Subaru XT’s gear shifter might be the raddest automotive feature in history.
Consider your XT search a bit more difficult now; I’m setting up alerts too. *cackles like a villain*

Funny Im a car salesman, and the only shit experience I ever had was looking at a new XT back in the day. Bought a used GTV6 from Paul Spruill in Atlanta and was treated like a king, Bought my used CRX si at Phil Hughes Honda in Athens, GA and called my salesman to find my then girlfriend now ex wife cheap transportation, an 82 Accord high miles. Was a great car! Ive bought cash cars mostly since until I got in the biz. The saleswoman at the Subaru joint in ATL was the worst!

I was the proud owner of two subaru XT’s. One 1989 XT GL with a 1.8 NA with an auto and a 1991 XT-6 with a manual. The XT GL was a much more reliable and better condition. The XT-6 was a very nice “GT” car. It would cruise at high speed all day long. The XT-6 was a salvage title vehicle and suffered from every known problem that model had from the electronic steering to the air suspension.

I’m old enough to remember when the EXP was somewhat common on the street, and I’ve never seen an LN7.

I knew someone who had an XT back in the day. 10 year old me thought it was pretty cool. Asymmetrical steering wheel and lots of button pods? Yes!

Yes that 4WD button is perfection. I’d be happy if my video influences an XT purchase!

Yeah, air suspension isn’t something I’d want to deal with...

The air suspension could be easily replaced with coil overs from other Subaru cars. I did the swap for my 1989 car and it actually really improved the car.
